FAQ

Common questions

Is the Ninja CREAMi worth it?

If you like ice cream, particularly high-protein or low-sugar ice cream, it’s one of the most versatile machines you can buy. You freeze a base for 24 hours, then the CREAMi turns it into a smooth scoop in a few minutes. If you hate planning ahead, a compressor ice cream maker lets you churn and eat on the same day.

Do I need to freeze anything in advance?

It depends on the machine. Ninja CREAMi: yes, you freeze your base in the tub for 24 hours. Ninja SLUSHi: no, pour in a chilled drink and go. Compressor ice cream makers (Sage, Cuisinart, Magimix, Unold): no, they have their own freezer. Freezer-bowl makers like the KitchenAid attachment: the bowl needs around 16 hours in the freezer.

Can the Ninja SLUSHi make sugar-free slushies?

Not on their own. Sugar is what stops a drink freezing solid and gives it that slushy texture, so zero-sugar drinks generally won’t slush unless you add some sugar or a suitable sweetener. The SLUSHi XL and MAX have a SlushAssist mode that will tell you if your drink needs more.

Why don’t you show prices?

Amazon prices change often, sometimes several times a day, and big events like Prime Day and Black Friday bring deep discounts. Rather than show a price that might be wrong, we show a rough price band (from £ to ££££). Click through to see today’s live price and delivery options.

How do you choose what to recommend?

We look at the manufacturer’s specifications, what each machine actually makes, how practical it is in a UK kitchen, and how well it’s regarded by owners. No brand pays to be included. We earn a commission from Amazon if you buy through our links, whichever product you choose.

Does buying through your links cost me more?

No. You pay exactly the same price on Amazon. A small commission comes out of Amazon’s share and helps keep this site running.
